November 13, 2012 - Amman to Dubai, United Arab Emerites
Today is another travel day. I used all my Jordanian dinars on the taxi to the airport. I got there early and spent a few hours in the lounge. Crossword puzzles and sodukos filled the time.
I could see the Burj Khalifa building on the approach to Dubai airport. I will definitely take the elevator to the top during my stay.

The apartment is great and luckily had a washer. It is extremely hot, having ventured on the metro this morning. I think the pool is in order for today - just relaxation.
Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world
November 15, 2012 - Dubai, UAE
Unlike yesterday today was full of adventure. I had a 10 o'clock appointment to go to the top of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. There were hundreds of people and I thought it would take forever to get to the top. But the line moved smoothly and it was amazing how fast the elevator took you to the 124th floor. The views were amazing and you could see forever. I'd liked the contrast between the modern buildings in the desert. I'm sure 20 years from now you will only see buildings. One is prettier than the next.
I stayed on the top floor for about half an hour, spending half my time inside and half outside. I had a picture taken on a blue screen showing me climbing the building - like Tom Cruise, but I passed on the 55 dollar cost.
I had an all day MetroCard for the cost to 4 dollars. I took the metro to the Burj Al Arab hotel. Well I actually got off the Metro 3 or 4 times to find the right stop that had a bus connection. Finally I made it only to learn that you could not get in. So the outside pictures will suffice.
I then took the metro to the Mall of the Emirates. I passed on the indoor skating rink. After lunch I returned to my hotel.
In the evening I went back to the Dubai mall. I watched the fountain show similar to the one at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. This one seemed twice as large, with the Burj Khalifa in the background. I watched four of the water light shows while enjoying dinner.

Today was a lazy day. Mostly reading and crossword puzzles. It was very hot to venture outside.
November 17, 2012 - Dubai, UAE to London to Prague
Another travel day today. I took an early taxi to the Dubai airport. I used all my remaining cash on chocolates, of course. The flight to London was great. I saw the movie The Avengers - which was one of the worse I've seen on the trip. I then spent four hours in the American and British Airways lounges before my flight to Prague.
