Chicago - Labor Day Weekend 2013

This is going to be a very short post.  Eric and I just returned from Chicago, where we had a wonderful weekend of sightseeing and eating.  We took a hop-on hop-off bus to see the cities highlights and some of the outlying neighborhoods.  We also went to the Science Museum one day.

But tomorrow we're off to Athens and the Greek Isles, so I had to post this before we left.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel on Michigan Avenue, right in the  heart of Chicago.  The Wrigley Building was across the street and we were next to the Chicago Tribune building

Of course Marshall Field and Company is now Macys.  We had a wonderful lunch in their elegant dining room.

These planters were up and down Michigan Avenue.

Here's the Chicago water tower, one of the two buildings to survive the Chicago fire.

The John Hancock building is the fourth tallest building in Chicago.  My good friend Faye Albert lived here before moving to Miami.  I wonder if her apartment is in view?

A view from the top of the John Hancock building looking at the most expensive real estate in Chicago.

What is a trip to Chicago without a taste of their deep dish stuffed pizza.  This time we went to Giordanos instead of my usual - Ginos East.

Four of our friends in the park.

The tallest building in Chicago is the Willis Tower, but everyone still calls it the Sears Tower.

No we did not see the musical Chicago again.

And off we went, back to Orlando to prepare for out trip to Greece.
