Transatlantic Cruise - April 2013

This is the second time that Eric and I have taken the Celebrity Equinox across the Atlantic.  This year we stopped at many new ports.

Our first port of call was Nassau in the Bahamas - one of our favorite places to visit - NOT.  We weren't even going to get off the ship, but decided to get our exercise in for the day by walking to Atlantis on Paradise Island.

We then had seven beautiful days at sea - however I only posted one of the seven pictures I took.

Finally we reached land - Tenerife in the Canary Islands.  It is off the coast of Africa but belongs to Spain.  We took a tour of the island, getting amazing views from the tops of the mountains.

It was then off to our third port of call - Lanzarote, the island closest to Africa - but still 100s of miles away.

Here we took another tour and visited the lava tunnels caused by the volcanoes of old.  Our next stop was at an aloe farm, where we got to sample fresh aloe - It cures everything, even the heartbreak of psoriasis.

Each home had the choice of three colors to paint the doors and windows - green, blue or brown.

Our next stop was Lisbon - the first repeat from our previous cruise.  I took the opportunity to walk into town and get on the internet - 180 emails, but only three that were the least bit important.

Which is in Portugal of course.

On my walk back to the ship, there was Pacman leading the way.

Our ship had only a few meters clearance beneath the third largest suspension bridge in the world.  Can you guess the two larger?

Our final port was Gibraltar, which is owned by the UK, but is really in Spain.  Britain just won't return it.

Beware of the apes - they steal your hats and glasses.

The caves were beautifully lit.

These apes are a little more tame.
